Omg, he scared me too. I thought it was more silver surfer looking.:2guns:
I'm on there. Username Ultra of curse. I don't like the design either. Its overstimulating on my eyes. Like sooo much on one page. I didn't know what to read first.

LOL......You people are all so young. Have you ever seen the movie called

"The Abyss"

If you have seen the movie then you would all know that he is a friendly being.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lJyRF0Fzl9Y&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lJyRF0Fzl9Y&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

It symbolizes your digital self in a sense. Since being behind the keyboard you are nothing more then a entity with no shape and no form. This in essence is your eeos. Wow that sounded pretty cool. If you are a member look at Will and Tigers profiles and you will see just how customizable they really are. I know they just started a Eeos Bucks System but you will have to read about all that stuff. There is just to much stuff to list that is going on over there.

Oh no The Abyss :eek:

I think its great they have so many features but I refuse to visit sites with designs like that. I'm okay with site designs not being perfect, just look at Myspace but this is a total disaster. I also really don't like the comparison chart. I hope they change those things. If I weren't busy I'd make everyone sign an online petition. It's like using Comic Sans on business cards :/
I do admire the coding work :)

You should have said what he was in the FIRST place. Thats a really neat reason of having that scary looking being. :balloon:

I will look into customizing it more when I have time Its just so hard to get used to new things. when more people join, maybe I'll buy one of those shout out things too. That was neat!

no it doesn't. it symbolizes that one scene from terminator 2 when the mercury dude breaks apart and forms back up again.

Did you watch the clip Ajay ??

In the Abyss there was an entity under the water that had no form sorta like just a presense and it made itself appear to people using the water that it lived in. It showed the people it meant no harm and was a good entity.

Then include the clip on MyEeos, no one will give a crap what it represents. The world isn't full of poets or 60 year olds who look for metaphoric meaning in their lives. :rolleyes:

The design and logo are not trendy, I think that's the bottom line.

It doesn't look very nice. One of the features is 'Live Scrolling "Who's Online" Quick-Clickable Marquee' is that really a feature?

I'm sure if you listed facebook's full features list there would be far more green check marks by facebook than myeeos. (Referring to the frontpage features list)

Yeah I don't think it was, in a strategic marketing sense, smart to bother including facebook. Obviously facebook has more than one feature, But by ordinarily listing the complete features of every site the list would be considerably longer and the MyEeos site would miss some marks.

And another thing, the spelling and grammar errors are just stupid (still)

Member Suppported Native AND YouTube Video Library

What the hell is Member Supported Native? Member Supported Native Video Library? As if people would give a crap, needs to be worded simpler.

Anyways, These things don't appear to change so maybe the complaints are in the wrong forum. Just wish they had the sense to make some changes since no one except themselves seems to enjoy their little 1990's template and Terminator/SilverSurfer logo. That's why I don't want to sign up with it, yet anyways, because it's just so.. Blah to look at.

I wonder what the movie studio would think of Myeeos using a possible copyrighted symbol of their work on the Myeeos site....Wouldn't that Abyss thingy be the property of the movie studio?

I hope they read this.. I really need to get this off my mind.

1. GET RID OF THE COMPARISON CHART

People who join social networking sites couldn't care less about how a site compares to others. You don't see Myspace or Facebook comparing themselves to other social networking sites. Let users figure out what features are offered on their own or make a nice little list.

Example of what Facebook uses:
Use Facebook to…

* Keep up with friends and family
* Share photos and videos
* Control privacy online
* Reconnect with old classmates
It's simple and to the point, that's what regular users want. Only webmasters might be more interested in a long list of features but they shouldn't be your main target.

2. GET A DECENT DESIGN

There's no excuse why a site with that many features should be stuck with the worst design on the net, I'm sorry but it really is. Just because a few people like it doesn't make it good. If you want to compete with the big guys, make a decent layout. I don't care who the little metalic man or the swimmer is, just get rid of them. Go for a web 2 look, this is web 2 gone wrong. You can't expect users to take the site seriously when it looks like this. The graphics are just too much. You don't need graphics, you just need a simple graphicless logo. PLEASE! I know that the opinions of a few MSP members doesn't matter but you have no idea how much this design can hurt the site. Go to other forums or go to professional designers and ask them for an honest opinion.

I hope this post isn't too rude but I hate to see a site with much potential get destroyed by a bad design :S

These are my suggestions. In order of importance:

Get a logo. The site/community/idea needs a visual representation. Branding is far and away the most important part of promoting a new product and right now myeeos has 0.

Take everything out of the /community folder and put it in the home folder. There is no apparent reason for it to be tucked a folder deep. A lot of people still type in addresses manually because it's faster and it's annoying to have to type in a folder name when that folder doesn't represent anything. It has no benefit from a navigation aspect to a SEO aspect.

Change the index page. A statement with more impact could be made with a less offensive message. The comparison chart feels like an attempt to insult my intelligence. I would prefer a chart of all the features myeeos has that "all these other social networks (myeeos, facebook, etc.) don't have". It gives you more room to talk about the features and less room for mental comparison. It's good to get the point that it has better features than the other social networks, but it's not good to keep them in the potential users mind while you're trying to get myeeos in there as well.

Update the layout. It may not seem like it's important, but it is. Probably the most important. You have about a second to keep a new users attention and if you're layout turns them off instantly you're done. I understand the whole digital self representation bit, but I don't get it. It seems like a stretch and people are going to wonder why there's a screen shot from the Abyss on the site. It just doesn't make any sense to anyone but the site owners.

The most important thing I've learned from MySpace Pros is that it's the communities site. You can try your hardest to turn it into the site you want but it's better just to give the community what they want as long as it makes sense. So rather than pushing your point across to the users, take the users suggestions and start implementing them immediately.

The features are awesome, it just needs a better package and presentation. The hard part is done. I'll even put some time into making the original myeeos layout fit with the new feature set if finding a designer that understands the concept continues to prove difficult.

My first impression of the landing page is it looks like one of those long hypnotic one page sales sites. But those do work, and maybe this is actually a good choice during the initial push for members.

Wow. The old design was better. I had an account on there before, but I would not sign up on a site looking like this. It looks like that Handshakes social networking script that has a lot of bugs, or a scam website.
