I need opinions.

On one of my sites I am going to be offering free website templates. I want to set a limit on how many times it is downloaded before I retire it. My reason for doing this is to keep it from being overly used. Cause who wants a template that a ton of people are using. So I thought you guys could give me your thoughts on what is a reasonable number of downloads before it's retired. I don't want to make it too low cause I would be making templates all the time to keep up.

Good idea! :) What's your idea of low? Just wondering, it would probably be easier to say how many I think it should be set too

Also is this going to be a big hit or small? Is it going to get a lot of traffic?

I would say about a year, For this specific scenario.

I guess my idea of low would not be less then 100. Knock on wood this site will someday be as successful as my others. I just thought I would be a bit different cause I've seen on alot of sites that offer website templates that they don't seem to limit or retire them.

I think if you're focusing on the retiring element then you can make it a year when you first start the site, then change the limit to 6 months after you gain traffic then 3 months if the site becomes popular.

Cool I was going to say the limit should be 200-300 downloads per/theme
