http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_fix_an_oil_leak_for_a_1995_Oldsmobile_C utlass_Supreme_We_think_it%27s_the_o-ring_but_we%27re_not_sure_please_give_all_suggesti ons

Well my brother found out some stuff and they're going to try and fix it tomorrow but do any of you people know anything about this?

I know nothing about cars but they're flipping out saying they wasted money on it blah blah blah blah blah even though he only paid $1500, it was listed for $3000 but then the guy dropped it to $2000, my dad offered $1800 and then my brother found the oil leak and he said $1500

First when we looked at it my brother was like "this is a nice car, you'll like it"... initially my brother just wanted it so he didn't have to use his BMW all the time but then the story changed saying it was for me BUT I never wanted it... I want a Honda Civic
Anyway it's not a bad looking car, on the outside it's nice looking...

But the point is my dad thinks he got ripped off, they just bought it spur of the moment, got home and tried to see what the oil leak problem was and found out it's some major problem

They went back to the guys house that they bought it from and all hell broke loose... :censored: uhh no resolution there :devil2:

I just told them to try and fix it tomorrow cause I hate seeing my dad be all like "oooooh I got ripped off" my comparison was the laptop that I just spent almost $1500 on but he said yeah at least you got something that you know will work..

Anyway this is just upsetting :(
We're supposed to be leaving on vacation and my brother was going to take this with him too and ahhhhh the reason my brother doesn't want to take the BMW is because it's old... 94, it doesn't need to be driven like that

I been there,

I paid slightly less than $1000 for an 84 mustang when I was 18, I knew it had an oil leak but I thought I could fix it with the help of some friends. It turned out it was a major job above the level of my friends expertise and I could not afford to fix it.

Then engine ended up blowing about 5 months later..

fun car though, I beat the **** out of that thing before it died.

sorry to hear about your predicament, I hope the problem can be fixed. I know how your dad must feel though, but don't worry.. either way it will be forgotten in good time.

My dads mind set is that it's impossible to fix, something like the problem is inside the engine and it's hard to get too

But I was insisting that they should at least try

I hope they do :(

My brother was looking for stuff on google reading what other people said and it just made everything even worse :(

probably the the oil gasket.. if so, yeah, its too expensive to bother with.

best thing to do is buy a lot of cheap oil and put in the trunk and check/fill the oil everyday before you go anywhere.

mine was fine until I got lazy about checking the oil.

why doesnt he just run it to a shop for a day and see if they can find the issue. They can tell him whats wrong acting like he intends to have them fix it and then do it himself

Yeah that's what my brother said he was going to do but my dad was like "I'm not letting you do that" :death:

Edit

We read on the internet it was a waste of time to take it to a shop, they'd charge more than they even paid for it lmao

If its the oil gasket, it's not hard to diagnose on your own, and if that is the problem, in most cases the cost to fix the problem is not worth it when its an older vehicle

All I know is that it's leaking lotttttttttts of oil and where it's leaking is hard to get too

:(

The guy they got it from said he never knew it leaked oil

BS that's why I said "all hell broke loose" lol they started instigating the guy rofl and then his neighbor started sticking up for him, like it was his business

oh and something about "listen buddy you're in north carolina"... oh geeeeez (obv since they knew we're yankees)
