Damn Navigation Bar is Hard to Customize

I can't get the hover font changed at all, everything else has been decently easy.. But the dropdown menu font has not changed at all in the last hour or so of modifying it. Has anyone been able to customize the dropdown list?

Or better yet does anyone know how to remove that and the searchbar but not the ad? :(

get firebug and web developer for FF and you can find the CSS/code for any thing on any site, and change it real time.
