myspace locked/phished?

does anyone knows why does this happen?
today i logged into my account and it say it was phished to change my pw blahblah so i did and when i tried, it said invalid pw...
then i went to account setting and my email was somehow different.

it had a .colocked at the end.
has this ever happen to you? do you know why does this happen?

i dont post bulletins.. i dont spam and yeah i havent done anything wrong with my account -,-
my account is 2 years and never had any problem..
i just want to know if theres any hope or anything i could do to possibly get it back :l

What happens when you try and click on forgotten password do you get an email?

I've heard of this happening to other people. Many times it's just a bug in the system, and other times the account is locked. Many of the high friend count accounts are under watch for scamming and spamming because many of them do (not saying you do). Try uploading a picture, I've heard of this fixing the problem. Also, as sad as it sounds, It could in fact be Ori or Nathan's friend cracking into it, who knows. Best of luck to you.

That sucks so bad steph =\ I got hacked too, my laptop not my myspace. Jackolantern has a virus on his site >< We havent figured out whats causin it either, but its baaaaaad.

The most important thing is that you have a complex password.

Even if they use a program to guess your password, it will take years to figure out.

So the stronger and longer the password, the better.

No idea whatsoever, I barely posted bulletins, may be once every few days... I've been having that account since Nov. and it was for one of my sites.

I never have, my friend count is not high (I had about 4k), and most of my traffic is SE traffic from the very beginning I launched the site. Relying on myspace for traffic hasn't been my thing, ever.

Yup, I've seen people lose 50% of their traffic because their account got locked/deleted. I'd never rely on that for the traffic, one day you have the account, and it could be gone the next one, just like that.

I don't even think I'll be making a new account...
