What is Shared & Dedicated hosting? Does one give you more space, etc?

I use http://www.value-webhosting.com

Dedicated hosting puts you on your own server, so you have more flexibility when it comes to traffic load, storage, and space. So yes, you get more space and bandwidth.

It's recommended if you have roughly anything over 20-30k/day.

Shared hosting, on the other hand, puts you on a hosting server with hundreds of other clients. With all these sites and different traffic routes, it places a strain on the server thus ending up with slower performance and downtime.

what in your opinion is optimium traffic when one should move to a dedicated server.

i ask this because i think moving to dedicated server is a must if the site needs to grow But initially paying 150$ pluss monthly when the site is barely making 450-500$ a month is really expensive?

what is the traffic level when most of the guys shift to dedicated servers.

you might want to consider a vps package servint is best in the market for these you get one for $40 a month. Gate.com/vps starts at $29.95 but they are extremely new in the vps market

You can get fairly cheaper dedicated servers starting at $79/month.

If you get a $79 Dedicated please dont put a resource site on it.....Your site will die in 2 days if that.........if you have the traffic that you should when getting a dedicated.

Also if your site is making $450-$550 a month then getting a $150 a month server is a wise move if you have the traffic to justify it.

Remember it doesnt matter what new content you put on your site......If people cant get to it then its USELESS.

Can you grow with them or will you have to move in the future ??

If its just a pitstop till you get bigger then you will move then pay the extra money per month and go with a Company that will give you room to expand so you dont have to MOVE 1000 times.

While I agree it's good to be able to expand and set up a clustered environment, if you start to get big you should look into spreading your servers (i.e: image servers) around and not all in one place.
