Do you think they'd be any interest in me making a tutorial to make your own coding generators like on my site http://dragonrust.org/visitor
I was thinking my example would be to make a myspace lyt generator.
The tut would show you how to make a preview and the textarea with it.

I wouldn't waste my time with it because most people still won't understand it even if it is step by step.

I would be interested in giving it a shot and trying to make my own. would this be something free? sorry if thats a dumb question ::whistling:

my favorite tutorials are video tuts, where the creator is explaining things vocally instead of text tutorials. just my preference. I have a program I could give you that records your desktop if your interested.

What program do you have that records desktop?

And yes, I'd be interested in a tutorial like that. Would it be free or paid?

I think if you made a flash one(flash generator) then that'd be a hit. I've been looking for a flash one

I have http://www.deskshare.com/MSR.aspx
screen recorder, full version.

I bought it 3 times, cause I thought I had to buy it for each of my computers for it to work on each.. So I basically can give it to you..
If you want to trade something for it, I wont complain, lol, but you dont have to...

Like Melissa said, tutorials are helpful no matter what they're for. If you help two people, it'd be worth it. :)

A generator is basically THIS (http://uk.php.net/manual/en/tutorial.forms.php) script, just modified a little bit.

Or a lot :turned:

Yeah dealing with a basic php form is a very good starting point though.

Lirae's right, but obviously someone who hasn't done php would stuggle a bit :(

The thing I'm concerned about is copying. I mean if this tutorial is one of the few, the learners could just copy it which would kind of defeat the point economically.

This is true, you have a talent in making generators which is still a popular thing for myspace. You will be getting a lot of green rep in return but might be losing a lot of green money in the long run.

You need a knowledge of PHP to make a generator. So a lot of the instructions would go over people's heads. And the people that do know PHP would already know how to make one (or atleast how to start).

Wow i would really love to learn how to make one... i can read some php and mod some scripts that i use on my site but I'm a total noob when it comes to making my own scripts :pinch:

I agree but a basics tutorial will be of much help. He can always create a far better generator or a advance one if he already knows enough to create a tutorial. Which he can always sell.
