How come most all myspace resource, has a simular layout? Not the style, most of them are different, but the layout itself, they are pretty much the same, or pretty close to it?

Is there a reason for this? I have been making content for my site, I have the domain and hosting, and haven't made a layout for the site yet, and just looking around to see what everyones doing, and I've seen maybe 1 or 2 sites that are totaly different on the way the site is layed out... Is there a reason for this?

Hmm, well non of the sites I'm seeing look anything like those...

hmm, I wouldn't pay $100.00 - $200.00 for a script like that, no offince, I just don't get it I guess.

Using scripts makes maintaining a site easier as opposed to manually doing it. As for layouts looking alike, there's a lack of originality nowadays. Monkey see, monkey do basically :).

Hand coding is hard for many users that have no experience with html, php etc

Scripts allow users to register and upload, rating system and other cool stuff.

Doing all this for hand coding sometimes can be hard, for non experience people, like myself. I hand code my site and I'm tired of the manual crap. I want something easy. Some people with scripts change their css and it don't look like a script that is running. :chef:

Thanks... Well I can't afford a script, and I really don't want my site to look like someone elses lol... I'll just put the extra work of writing my own lol...

Thanks for your answers though.

You can still use a script and have your site look different.

I guess the in thing is to copy everyone else then, cus like I said maybe 2 out of the 40 myspace resource sites I've looked at today, are different, there are 2 styles I am seeing, besides the 2 different ones...

monkey see monkey do.

heres an idea..and im not being a smart*** How about you make a totally different site then all the ones you are seeing...and sell the script for $100 a pop...then instead of making 100 a month off of the site make 100 every script you sell.

scripts to me are the lazy way of doing things, honestly most resource sites look alike because they dont really know what theyre doing so they use a script to do it for them. Some people even know what theyre doing but they drown themselves by copying. Then you have people that just steal or buy everything on their site so you see the content everywhere else even if the site itself is unique, So basically to be different, code your own shyt if you can, make your own graphics and layouts, and have your own style. That's the way to go and your site will be big =) thats my opinion =P

Thanks, and thats my plan :) I have a long ways to go before I will open my site, but I'm taking my time, I would rather it be nice then like everyone elses.

I purchased my layout on my main site. I've never paid for any kind of script & still hand code.

Ya know, I was searching google to see if I could find if there were more of these scripts out there, and well I found a few free ones, and then some cheap ones, that look just like what I been seeing, so that is prolly it... Thanks though, I won't be using the scripts lol...

True, very true... Well I downloaded this free one to see what all it does, and what it offers, I've seen all these graphics on lots of sites... I can't seem to load the layout into my old site (I am not using this I just want to look) so I have no idea what the layout looks like that came with it... I've followed the instructions, but I'm about to give up, wasting all this time on something I don't plan on using when I could be working on my site lol... Whats wrong with me?:hang:

I can code a bit, but manually uploading graphic here and graphic there...I want something much faster. It's just annoying and tiring to do everything manual. Why not let a system do it for you with one click of a button?

If you're a good graphic designer and care for your site, script or no script it will always be different that what is out there. :balloon:

Well after playing with this one, I could prolly have a layout already half way coded lol.. its just bugging the crap out of me, to see what it looks like lol. I know I'm nuts.

I didn't read nothing like that, there really isn't any rules, I can tare this layout apart and completly redo it if I wanted too, but its to over done.

I don't like that script, I don't like the look of it in default, and that's a bad sign.

Had a friend I was affiliating with, he had that script and I got no hits from him. I emailed him, got no response and he abandoned his site lol

I don't think that scripts are the lazy way of doing things. Some people would rather spend their time designing rather than coding and that's where scripts come in.

Why is that lazy? Momma always told me to work smarter not harder.

I made that skull and snail a couple years ago lol
and that pink online icon.......... GOSH so many memories.

So lame, that people just saved everyones stuff and included it in those free CMS scripts.

At a point there was NO REASON to tag your graphics, suddenly a thousand people open up "myspace resource sites" then stole everyones stuff..
Pyzam started off by stealing everyones content, FreeCodeSource as well, and of course MySpaceSupport.. everyone. -_-

I would start with manually coding stuff, then get a CUSTOM script once you've figured out what you like doing the best. Starting off using a CMS is plain old ghetto, no fun in it.

I'd love to know where you get your facts. :-)

Aside from Funny Pics, everything on pYzam is created by pYzam employees working in our offices or subcontracted graphic designers who are required by contract to create original work.

Speaking of your funny pics, I saw one in an Australian Magazine called "Zoo". Don't remember what pic it was but it had your watermark. Cool huh

I just converted most of my pages to the M2 graphics script

Woohoo saves me time and you can't even tell it's a script :punk:

I modded it too, to use it for backgrounds and I'm working on music skins ha!

using script or not depends on the PURPOSE of making site

If you make site for your hobby, design, etc, ou do not need to use script.
But if you are here to make money, using script is a smart move since uploading graphics one by one is really not a great idea.

Most myspace resouce site's have one main table and two on the side it's just like that it make's everythign easier. haha:turned:

Melly
June 18th, 2008, 01:13 AM
It's more roomey for like myspace layouts, yeah I was told that earlier, I just finished my layout, and it has the 2 columns on the sides... just cus its a resource site, and cus I need lots of room... More then just myspace stuff, but myspace takes up lots of room.
