Ok I have bought paid links in the past for various sites for SEO reasons but never strictly for traffic so I was wondering. How many daily visitors should I roughly expect to recieve if I was to buy a link on a site recieving 100,000 daily uniques. I know there are variables to consider but from people past experiences what should I roughly expect to recieve from a link on such a site for....
1. A top 3 position above or near the fold
2. A header link
3. A bottom position or footer link

1. 3-5k
like you said, many variables apply...

How long is a piece of string?
Ask the person who is selling them, no way someone here could tell you

I know I was just wondering based off of others experiences you know like someone could say yea I bought a link on a 100k a day myspace site and recieved X,XXX daily visitors from it and such. I know there is know definate answer and that my own experience may differ but if I had enough people saying xxx or x,xxx amount of daily visitors then I would at least have an estimate which is more than I have now

Here are some real, actual examples... I buy links from sites all the time (good way to get indexed, some link weight, PR and good ole clickthroughs).
I bought a top-fold link from a 80k site for a month and received about 20 uniques/day. On the other hand, a 100k site I bought from, I got only 8 uniques/day. And no, the 100k did not have a large, saturated link list.
In terms of traffic, button ads are much more effective. I was able to increase my traffic almost ten-fold if I spent a little bit more money to splurge on a button ad, rather than a plain old text ad.
