I need to create a tiny banner, total of 21 characters including spaces. I need it to be as thin and small as possible but still be totally legible. Could someone recommend a good free pixel font for this, and if I need to give it any special effect in Photoshop could you let me know?
Thanks

There's pages and pages here. There's no chance you won't find one you like.

Theres also FFF, which specializes in pixel fonts.

Not sure how good it is, since ive never used it much. Most of them you have to pay for, but there are quite a few free ones on there aswell.

FFF has a couple of really nice fonts. I use them for my glitter tags. It can be size 8 and still completely legible.

I use BM Mini at size 6pt. It's a great font.

That's the problem, I don't want to go through pages and pages trying fonts, could someone just tell me "use minime at 8 px and give it a stroke effect"?

I'll try the BM mini 6pt meanwhile

i'd suggest either:
04b_24 at 6pt with a stroke
or
04b03 in all caps 6pt with a stroke

hope i helped.

If you're still wanting suggestions, I always use Silkscreen or Silkscreen Expanded at 6pt (8px).

If you're using photoshop, with Pixel Fonts be sure to set the text style to NONE, instead of Sharp, Crisp etc.

I use Kartika or Pixies.
but, like Jordan said, be sure you turn the anti-ailas off.
