More professional or not?

I'm really scared to post this because I have no idea what people are going to say.
Last time I was told my site was a "playground for little kids"...

I changed my sites layout around and added just a little logo in the corner, it's very small in size and shouldn't take a second to load.

What do you guys think of it now?
I think it looks more like a lot of resource sites out there and I'm happy with it.

Most people are telling me they don't like it though, so I'm wondering what you guys think.

If you have some suggestions, please tell me. I wanted to make the CSS more colorful but somethings telling me not to.

I don't like it, should have a royalty feel to it since it says Royal. The flowers don't match it either. :(

I love it! It looks much better and everything looks so clean and organized.

BUT...that logo gotta go. You need a big nice banner up there to stand out. That little thingy is not standing out looks like a comment tag actually lol

But when I make a big banner people say it looks too girly and takes 10 minutes to load...

I will say I like it this way because not only is it really simple, VCM is paying good, so, that's a good thing! (Y)

You shouldn't be sad because change is good. We all go through the steps in trying to acheive "that look" and it's not easy lol especially when one is doing it alone.

I like your site, I like this layout look. But you need some like platinum color up there. Maybe something like your logo with a queen crown on top of it?

The previous was better to me. The css is nice and the format but the header/logo it just doesn't really go with the site? Good choice of font though and colors but the logo needs rearranging or something =S.

I liked the previous layout too, but that was almost 300kb and it was too big, I want small.

I never had a layout like this and it's making me a lot of money! I like that!

In our niche, our crap is aimed at little kids :l I don't like pro lookin sites. They're ugly:( Yours looks good, but sites like hotfreelayouts etc, just ****ing ugly. I like snaz

I really like it Melissa... a lot more than your old setup, it still looks fun and not like those generic Myspace sites. it'd look perfect if you incorporate Andrew's idea of the heart for charm and crown for royal into the logo it's an awesome idea :]

when i had my site set up similar to that, it made more money too. i'm working on a layout with similar setup. haven't finished it yet and i like the 2 logos posted. they'd look good there.

The layout set up is really nice and clean, but the header logo just doesn't match.
Sure the logo looks nice, but I'd expect it to have a border around so it blends with the layout set up

I noticed the header moves all the way to the right when the banner beside it is smaller but other than that it looks super!

I like how its setup now, but I would change the layout, it's a little plain, try using a bit more bolder colors but the setup is nice :)

Keep in mind as well you can't have the 160 banner along with the 468/728 on the same page but if you get rid of the 468 and just keep the 728 as said above you'll be fine :)

if you look at there FAQ at this question:

"How many ad formats may I place on my site?
You may place one of each ad format on each page of your site. Please note that if you are using the 728/468 or 120/600 combo code on a page you may not place the standard 468x60 banner or 120x600 banner on the same page in addition."

and read the ad placement thing it says that 728/468 and 160/120 combos arent allowed on the same page, but don't get to concerned about it because it will work in your favor anyway

what i took that to mean was that you could use both together but you can't have like two banners or two skyscraper ads on a page. In other words, if she had one 728 banner at the top, she couldn't have the 468 at the bottom. and if she had the 160 skyscraper on one side, she couldn't have the 120 skyscraper on the other. maybe valueclick could better answer that for you.

it doesnt have to be a 'serious' crown, either.
it can be a cartoon crown in place of the flowers.
that would even match your theme. :]
