Minor myeeos update.

Will and I spoke a couple times yesterday for the first time in a long while and it was a nice, adult conversation. You'll notice we have both removed myeeos related issues from our respective blogs and there will be no further action taken by either side.

While I still have nothing more to do with myeeos, I will make an announcement to everyone when the site has launched. I wasn't given the specifics, but apparently there are still features being developed that haven't made it to the site yet. I've kept an eye on the site of course, and while I don't much like the theme, they have a hell of a feature set.

I'm excited to see what they do with myeeos.

The theme is ok because that isn't the landing page. It's what it looks like once you're inside. Some people have said they can do w/out the "Mr. Melty man" in the left hand corner, but I don't think anyone will ever come to a full agreement on what the myeeos mascot should be.

It would interesting if you could one day buy ad space on the melty man.

I gotta find out about that as well. I have a whole bunch of domains expiring soon too. I cant believe its been a year already. Its been a crazy ride. I've been thinking if I should keep them and see how it pans out or if I should just let them go.

I really hope they fix the layout. A decent little layout would improve the site a lot. I also don't really like the list of why people should choose Myeoos over Facebook and Myspace.. it's a bit irrelevant and unwanted. I'm glad they're finishing it though :)

Changes are always in the works but for the time being its there. While you say you dont like it there are 50 others to say they love it. I really dont think everyone can be made to be happy about a Layout. There will always be those that hate it and those that love it.

Look at MySpaces changes....Have you read the people here that complained cause they hated the new look ?? Yep ya sure did.

Things will move forward and change with time ya know. And Yes people are signing but as with everything else it all takes time. We are doing so many different things at the moment its crazy. VB is being put in place of the existing forum as of now and the Chat and IM is being revamped thats why thats not on at the moment.

We dont want to be like MySpace or work like MySpace. People are going to learn a new way of doing things and using features they have never seen nor used before.

It will all happen but as you know with every site made it takes time.

Also the affilate program is being put in place so those site owners that WANT to become involved can.

We do need Banners/Headers etc made so if you are VERY skilled in doing that type work please email me at will@myeeos.com with some examples of your work and 1 demo. We will need the everyday used ones made. 300x250 728x90 468x60 120x600 and 160x600 and then whatever other normal size that are out there.

Glad I didn't waste money on domains or graphics for something with 700 members, I feel bad for those who did though.. And honestly all they have to do is change the template so it's less spammy/1995 and more web 2.0 or.. well even half decent for that matter.

MyEeos has its own boards where things are updated all the time. Those there know this while you sit here and dont. Those that want to have successful sites will be there and those that dont wont. Its fairly simple Andrew. The site is active and members comeback and the features are being used daily. It grows bigger and bigger by the day as more and more people sign up.

Also 771 members in about a month and a half of going live is actually pretty good saying the advertising hasnt even began yet. Here is a nice read for ya also.


MySpace took 3 months to build a site with similar features to Friendster, launching at the end of 2003. MySpace did not launch with the strategy that they would target independent music bands and create a social networking site anchored around music. This developed more naturally as a result of who they attracted to the site. Interestingly enough, MySpace did not begin to see user success until 6-9 months after initial launch and promotion. They started promoting MySpace by running a cash prize contest for Intermix employees (~250 of them); asking them to invite friends to use the site. This had some success, but was limited to reaching only a certain size. Next, they made use of the ResponseBase e-mail marketing list, which made some impact, but was largely considered a failure. This was because e-mail marketing does not attract people having loyalties to the site through a pre-existing group of friends or other association. Yes it would be harder today then it was then which is my point. Even then it took them 6-9 months to get the ball rolling. Ok it went live on 6-12 so its been 2 months. I was just going off the top of my head. I know of 1 site that has a banner up at the moment but when I said advertisement I was meaning actual paid promotion. That 1 banner is on 1 of the owners websites I think.

I think I've given constructive criticism in previous posts so I'm not just complaining. Whether they choose to consider it is up to them.
The design is an insult to the internet, just because a few people like it doesn't make it professional enough for a website like this.
I think I've said everything I wanted to say regarding Myeoos but I really hope the owners consider the things pointed out because the chance of them succeeding if they continue like this is close to nothing. Even silly sites running PHPFox can reach 700 members, it's nothing to be proud of.

MyEeos was a failure, If you can't see that it's not our problem but don't get butthurt that we each have our opinions on it when the site in a whole turned out to be disgusting filth and a total waste of money for many people who invested in.

Some investments never pay back and turn out to be flops, MyEeos is completely one of them.

Also if MyEeos is such a flop and your site dirt2.com is such a Great success then why is the Alexa Rank of MyEeos 185,531 and dirt2 is 279,231. So if MyEeos is a Flop then what would you consider your own site then ??

The owners of MyEeos SAVED a dead project that had no chance at all and have tried to give the people that spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on domains/sites and content something to work with. Its not my site but Im a member there and here also.

Keep on showing that immaturity Andrew but saying this or that and bashing bashing bashing. You are now pulling at straws pulling out everything and anything negitive you can find to say.

My advice to you is try working on your own site alittle before you start trying to bash one that has exceeded what you yourself have.
