I think I want to sell off a few of the websites that I own. I just don't know where to start. The sites have pretty good serps and traffic. All the content would come with them. Though.. my questions are

Where do I list
How do I accept payment and not get burned
Where would I get the word out that I'm selling
Anything else I missed

Anybody who has sold a site before feel free to chime in. I'm completely lost as I've never sold a site like this before.

Where to sell:

1) Sitepoint.com (costs $30 per ad) ; format is auction with Buy It Now ; you'll want to let them have screenshots proving your monthly revenues, traffic, and traffic referrals ; you should also state why you're selling the site, as Sitepoint buyers often ask that question ; you'll probably be asked about your expenses, such as advertising, hosting, etc; a fair price for a site sold on Sitepoint seems to be 10 times the monthly net income ; some buyers have no idea about your niche so be prepared to answer basic questions about your niche; you should probably state something about your script (how much the script is worth, what are the requirements, how do you update content, etc) ; I suggest putting an Extreme Tracker thing on your site to allow buyers to view your traffic stats

2) DigitalPoint.com ; has lots of sites for sale and a huge number of viewers ; format is a forum; what you could do is give the the details, state that it's up for auction on Sitepoint, and provide a link to the auction

3) If it's a myspace resource site, you could do as you do on Digital Point with a listing on MSP that links to the Sitepoint auction

How to accept payment:
1) Paypal
2) Escrow.com

How to get word out
-by listing the site on Sitepoint, DP, and MSP (if myspace related); of course, you could choose to sell the site at just one forum

Anything else you missed
-Try to make your claims realistic and be able to back up your claims with screenshots; don't claim 5000 UV's a day if you've hit 5000 UV's one day this month but your average is around 3000 UV's ; once someone questions your honesty, it becomes a mess

thanks Geg2 :) Is it better to sell each individually or altogether as a group?
