MySpace is near a deal that will establish their own music store to compete with iTunes and Walmart. This could actually breath some much need fresh air into myspace.

Monopolism, Next they'll have digital cameras so everyone can take the perfect "myspace picture" with a mirror and flash and all...
Anyways, This actually sounds good.. I think independant musicians can now get people to buy their music.
It also lists ringtones as well :)
I couldn't find any information on who gets the money.. Do these bands and musicians see a dime? :-/

A dime would probably be about right unless they are self marketing and myspace allows indies in. This could be like a itunes version of the original cdbaby concept.

more competition the better, maybe one day it will drop to 50 cents a song :D i think i bought like 600.00 worth of music from itunes last year, but lost it all... because i registered my itunes account while i was in the u.s. and when i came back it wouldn't let me download my purchases again with my new ipod :/ that, or i forgot the password to that specific account.. grr
i wish they made an mp3 player with an xfi chipset... because mp3s sound like poop on the ipod :/
