Has anyone really gone all out with Google Referral ads?
Like matching specific ads with specific pieces of content?
How has it gone?

I setup a 'download glitters here' banner ad on my glitter maker page and it has a ctr of 6% and converting at 12% (with each conversion earning about $1.80).
For every 500 visitors to that page I can make $6.48... Now just a matter of matching specific ads with every other content page.. 20 pages would make an EXTRA $129.60 per day just off referrals for a site that gets 10,000uv/day.
They would have high ctr's and conversions if you really spend the time matching the specific ads to content.
Just thinking out loud....

google referals never have high CTR for me,
the ad units are around 4% which i think is ok for the amount of page views i do for mysapce traffic, but as you get many page views ctr is hard to get 2-3%
to obtain 100$/day with referals alone you need some dodgy fire fox download thing going.

Yeah, I know it's never as 'straight forward' as the maths, have you ever tried the ff landing page? How'd it go?

you mean a fire fox landing page thats sperate to the site.
its aggainst TOS.
even the wording on fire fox downloads can be aggesint tos if you word it in a way to trick users.
atm making ok to ~ decent $$ with adsense i wouldn't risk it.

I have used Dating referring, but only the ones that offer text link form. They work well when mixed into a link section or cool site area.
