Consider the usual things. Do you want people to struggle to spell something if the first they hear of the site is through word of mouth. Is it a word that sounds like it can be turned into a verb easily like Google? Does it match up with an action people can take on the site like Tagged? Does it sound like it could also be a child's toy like Bebo? (j/k)

I think oryte is ok, but I think you can do better.

Personally, I don't like how it looks. Oryte... The problem isn't the pronunciation but how it's spelled and appeals to the eyes.

I think a neat logo can be made out of the different shapes used in the word Oryte, I think there's a large chance that it can be pleasing to the eyes and get users familiar with it enough to spell it right.

Oryt looks incomplete in my opinion, I think you found a good word that looks like it can be written almost fantastically, The fact that it's not a real word but looks like a legit word is all people care about. It's not like it says OnGnomIcs. You can easily type Oryte, I found it very easy to read the first time I saw it.

I don't really like it that much.. it took me a while to figure out how I should pronounce it. I first thought it would be pronounced as oreete.

Thanks guys for all your comments. I'll keep looking for another name, but if I can't find something short and catchy I'll probably stick to oRyte!
Do you think it's close to Orkut or is it just me?
