I have noticed a few profiles I have viewed that the URLs to myspace sites have been truncated down to http://..../
Anyone else notice this? Luckely it has'nt happened to me yet, but this could be devistating for some sites.

I haven't seen that but that could definitely put a lot of sites in a cringe.

I have only seen this for the 'Home' in the normal navigation. If this is where you mean this isnt myspace but the CSS.
If you mean the images in the corner and such that would affect the sites. However, I dont believe myspace would want to or have the time to do this.

Hmmm then thats odd. It could be an error on the site owners behalf? ie. they didnt link the link back properly?
It would seem strange for myspace to do this as having a layout etc is part of myspace and the users love this part.
Unless theyre releasing a super-duper layout editor :P

I've seen a few layout sites that fall prey to this...basically they get caught up in spamming myspace through messages, comments, bulletins or whatever...and get their URL blocked that way.
If you're legit, the URLs on your layouts people use will never get blocked.

I send messages when i add people like messages advertising my site... so I guess i should stop or I'll be screwed?

Just don't spam. That's the key really.
I keep a myspace profile for promoting my resource sites, but I ask my visitors to add me as a friend only if they want to stay informed on updates. Then I'll send out a bulletin maybe once a week or so when I've uploaded new content. If you keep it clean like that you should have no problems.
If you're still worried about myspace blocking your URL, you can always use redirects...
