Right, i bought a domain for a friend.. its going to be an artist site.. she sings and stuff. So i though as a nice gesture i would get her a domain & that.

I'm just wondering about flash websites, because i have only used flash once.. and that was just pratting about with it.

Does anyone here make flash websites? If so, how much would you charge? (It's only guna be a small site, wether she'll promote it or not i have no clue) Also, would you prefer $$ or some graphics or something?

Examples of what i mean are:

http://www.chingy.com/
http://www.backwardheroes.com/home.html < i pretty much love all the designs on there.

I dont need anything that advanced, it would be nice.. but i'm not made of money lmao.

Can anyone help me out?

If you want design infused with flash it will be expensive. Good HTML designing can be several hundred for a small site.

Yeh i thought that, i'm still thinking of attempting it myself.. i mean to be honest.. i don't need like a full flash site.. just a banner really, i just want a bit more info on it.. because i have no clue about it.

Does anyone know how hard it is to design one yourself, like fairly basic animation?

BH!...all of their designs are really fresh. The www.aksent.com site they did was really dope...it's such a simple layout but I love how huge the photographs are.

What about this Emma, if you designed the look for the entire site, I could help make your banner ideas work in flash. Because really, most of the flash sites are just photoshop designs anyways, with some animation happening on top. I could also teach you a few things about flash along the way, if you're interested.

A html/flash hybrid would be the best option for an artist type site, and the easiest to update.
Let me know what you think!

I'd check out the flash music templates at templatemonster.com. I'd also recommend against doing the entire site in flash. It would be a nightmare to update and add content unless you had a bunch of time or money.

Flash is not an easy programme to learn, but I would be happy to help you with it by editing a template, or doing a site.

only thing about flash is it can be bad for seo if its entirely in flash as there spiders cant crawl it.

That's true but there are a couple of ways around that. One is to have a html (e.g.) version of the site. Another is to put your text into a xml file that is linked to Flash.

Doesn't google actually crawl flash now? I heard that somewhere...but maybe I'm just dreaming :)

Anyways, for sure Emma, PM me as soon as you get a rough comp together! Do you think it will be a before xmas or after xmas kinda thing, just curious
