Total rep points in postbit?

The rep system is fairly popular here. I think it would be awesome to show the total points a user has in the postbit :)

What? That's what the green is for. :P Not an exact count, but pretty much gets the job done.

The more rep you give the more dims you get and the more a persons rep goes up when you give it to them.

Everyone usually starts off with a 1 of rep power and depending what they have it set to here.. your rep power will go up every X amount of times YOU rep someone. So say you give rep out like crazy.. you get powerful and when you give someone rep you could make it go up by what ever your power is. The system is a great one!

If you have a lot of dims you have a high rep power (from reping so much. The hover over is only the category that your total rep points puts you in. So it pays to rep too.. not just receive.

That might sound confusing but rep power and rep points are different.

If you have a rep power of 34, then a persons rep goes up 34 points when you rep them. If you have a rep power of 1 point then others rep will only go up one point when you rep them.

Contrary to your belief, the rep system is not popular. Rep means nothing, I usually just get it when I say something funny, not when I post useful information. It's just a flawed system in general. And don't get me wrong, keep green repping me people xD but it would be nice if people also acknowledged helpful posts by people, since that would accurately portray a real person's reputation (and not based on whether they are funny). A lot of people want it removed.

There is a user thanks system. For thanking a person without actually posting. :)

But the rep system lightens the load a little. Besides.. for the not so serious its a good moral boost ;) A lot of people wont care...

ETA.. A lot of posts I have seen mention + rep, or as I have heard referred to as "green beans" lol... Thats what led me to my assumption of its popularity.
