Selling a Site?

Hey I was wondering if i were to sell a site on for example sitepoint what would be the safest way to get payment? I was thinking paypal then taking out the cash from your account before sending the site but I'm not quite sure?

wire transfer, paypal is a liablity for any transactions over 5k with my past knowledge, i'd use wiretransfer, escrow, etc.

For large amounts use escrow.

I went to escrow.com today and it kinda freaks me out that if they get the site and say they didn't then I don't get my money?

ESCROW is the best option.

people wont use pay pal on site point its too risky for a big sale.

I think any transaction at 5k or over should be accompanied by a written legal agreement, possibly signed through the mail if they live in the US.

escrow is the best option if you want a worry-less transaction. Escrow will place your money in "escrow" until the domain changes hands. They may claim that they don't have possession of the site...but if the domain is registered properly as specified by the transaction, then the funds will be released to you. I've done $xx,xxx many times over with no hitches.

the only annoying problem ive had with escrow is people start the transaction then they don't come up with the funds for a while.

make sure the buyer has the funds, but not to worry you don't send the domain and site until escrow has the money.

I use PayPal every time I sell a site and have never had problems. I always wait until the funds are transfered and completed to my bank account before handing over the domain....until then they only get the content. Once the funds are out of your PP account PayPal won't do anything if they reverse the transaction.

Escrow.com is good if you don't mind a little higher fees and having to wait to get your money.
