ok i pretty much know how search engine optimization works and operates, or atleast i think i do. but i have a few questions about which way i should go for the most traffic from search engines.

ok and please correct me if im wrong about any of this but here goes,

using keywords, such as Myspace Layouts, Myspace Graphics, and Myspace Comments is higher competive area for top spots in rankings, but is also the highest searched phrases.

so my question is would using them keywords benefit me more traffic wise, rather than using keywords like Dark Myspace Layouts, Gothic Myspace Graphics, and etc, which would less frequently searched terms.

i hope answers to this questions will not only help me but help others here on msp aswell :punk:

Try targeting more specific keywords like 'dark myspace layouts', the chance of ranking for competitive terms is really small but you can rank for less popular keywords really fast :)

The traffic won't be as high but it will be higher than when you're trying to compete for a rank for a competitive keyword because you pretty much won't be included on the first pages if your site is new :)

Just treat each page as a separate entitity. For all intensive purposes, at least in regard to ranking for particular search strings, this is the way the search engines treat them. Target "dark" with your "dark" page, "gothic" with your "gothic" page, etc.

It's better to get a big slice of a small pie than a mere crumb of the big one.
