yo guys,
I was just wondering if there is like a certain place where everyone learns to make glitter graphics. The reason I ask this is because in browsing at different graphic packages I've noticed they all look exactly the same. same grey stroke with a texture setting. Just wondering why that is, it's just wierd that everyone happens to make them like that. I think there must be a secret tutorial online somewhere I'm missing. And with that all being said, what is your fav styles and why? do you like the default glitter look?

Hmm well I used a couple of tutorials (from the first google results) and then simply looked at other peoples work for tips on what looks good.
As you can see this would cause my glitters (all two of em :P) and I am guessing many others to be the same.

Well, I've been graphic designing since my sophomore year in HS, so by simply looking at someone else's work, I can pretty much imitate it. Once you know the basics of your program, you can pretty much make anything.

I learned my technique on my own. i saw one glitter graphic and perfected it, made it better and easier to make, and made up my own techniques. I recalled way oh about 2 years ago when i first read about glitters, looking back it was such a horrible technique and the technique i developed on my own was the one i stuck with, and kept changing and adding to. I've never, exept that once about 2 years ago, used a tutorial for my glitters.

Most people use the Grey outline because it fits well with every color. Most of the time, me personally, i use a darker version of the color that the text has as the outline but grey seems to fit best with glitters.
There's no tutorial or anything, people just see it looks good and decide to use the same thing.

Once you learn how to apply glitter fills to make glitters, making your own with your own style is easy.

I decided to start making my own glitters last weekend, figured if I can make them they'll be just how I want and they'll be free. I have made a few letter sets for my website, but haven't really made many full glitters like the one below yet.
This one is just a test, I have already made a (in my opinion) better glitter effect for future styles, I think the current glitter effect isn't glittery enough.

ha, I don't know if that was directed at me, but I'm going to take that as my very own compliment before anyone else claims it!
Thanks :D

That's really good. Maybe try using some more single pixel dots to make it a bit more 'glittery'.

I go with Andria's answer, & in addition, it's probably because most of us use the same plug-ins on our programs which is maybe why we develope almost the same effect as others do with theirs.
& that looks great DavidR! :D
