View Full Version : Minor addition to your usercp

I need a way to store notes/reminders in my usercp (support replies, etc.) so I put in a quick mod that allows you to store any text you want in your usercp. Some of you may find it useful for storing quick notes or reminders to yourself.

If you have no use for it you can easily hide it by clicking the plus symbol on the right side.

Cheers.

He was kidding :-/
We all know usercp is public for mods/admin...

And apparently PMs are not so private, maybe that can be a new feature please.

haha, like I trust that for storing anything of value or importance.

PM's are indeed private. The only mod that would allow an admin to view your PM (PM workbench I believe) would put a notice on the site letting you know it was installed.

Regardless, it's not a good idea to store passwords there, no.

I put my download link for the packs I upload for people so its ready to copy and paste whenever I want and then I just add the .zip name..

It's also good for pms you might send frequently or maybe some kinda code.

That would surely enough make me leave this site, for good if it was true.

Only way someone knows what you're PMing to another member is if that member tells someone or forwards it to another member

Indeed. I don't know of any forum admin that would think allowing mods (or even admins) to read other peoples PM's would be acceptable.

As I mentioned, there is a single mod for vbulletin that allows this and it comes with a warning notice on the site when it is installed that can not be removed. Your Private Messages are indeed Private.

Any speculation to the contrary is nothing more than rumor.

Now, back to the note section in the usercp: I'd like to expand on this feature. Possible add the ability to create several notes and list them. Someone posted something before that also gave me the idea to allow you to have PM templates to speed up commerce as well. Any other suggestions are very welcome.

Mods cannot see your notepad.

Mods cannot see nor change your passwords.

Mods do have the ability to edit someone's sig, avatar, and picture but those pieces of information are public.

Mods cannot read PMs, know how many PMs you have read/unread, who the senders or receipients are, nor the subject title of the PMs. In other words, mods have zero access to PMs.

His ban will be lifted when the time runs out. I hope we can all move on to the original topic and leave the other issues out :whackit:
