Hey,
Recently started looking into glitter images/text (today) heh and have made a couple to learn the basics.
Firstly, id like some feedback on them from other designers and tips to improve and also wondered how popular they are amongst other websites and whether its a good use of my time to create my own?

The first took a while to work with the star things but the second can be done in minutes. So what do you think? Should I spend the next few days pumpin some of these out?
Thanks,
Dean

TripleX if your using photoshop and you want to have that background stoke as the glitter then instead of using a blending effect of stroke hold CTRL+click on the thumbnail of the text layer then go to selection modify or something like that and click expand. You can choose to expand it by any amount of pixels and then you can fill it instead of having it just be a blending effect.
hope that helps.
Also those Glitter graphics look extremely well for your first ones ever. I think more of the white glitter star type things in an animation might look better but idk.

I do it differently .. I make the layer with the stroke then merge visible so the stroke is no longer an effect but now a flat image then select and effect the area you want? Not sure which is better as I am yet to experiment :)
Thanks alot, I have been using photoshop for a long time so the only new part is the animation but I am pleased with them and think I will add some more stars like you say Vulcan.
Thanks,
Dean

A stroke is a live effect/Layer style not a blending effect.

Yea sorry I just say blending effect because I right click on the layer and go to blending options...
Sorry for the switch. Also Dean, that would work as well. Yours might be more effecient but is definately easier to understand. I'm horrbile at describing what to do in photoshop, I just do it like tieing a shoe. lol

Creating your own is always nice. There are too many myspace sites that have a lot of stolen content..it all looks the same. =\ The ones you made looks alright so far. =)

I really like glitter's like kissable-penquins
You should really try out some of those. Just choose a rounded font and then gel it using emboss and such then give it a lot of sparkels.

I use Photoshop (animation window) for mine.
I like the style, prefer the top one with the extra stars, be interested in seeing some with script writing as there my favorite style :D

Hey Dean, they look a lot better than my first attempt lol
I've been searching for tutorials and found a couple but I'm still having a hard time figuring this all out.
I have photoshop and image ready but still not been able to create a decent glitter graphic.
Does anyone know of a good photoshop tut. or maybe a video showing how to create glitter graphics in photoshop?
I wish someone would create a good script that made the whole GG creation simple. I know there are a few scripts out there but they are fairly limited as to what you can actually do.

Looking good - the glitter effect is different than what you usually see which is a good thing. I like the border glitter best.
