there are a few here that know one or two things about SEO
and to those I pose this question, Do you think a domain
like Myspacelayouts.org or Myspacelayouts (dot) whatever can get you
some good SE traffic? what would you do with such a domain? a myspacelyts site
of course, but would you be really interested, in one like that.
cause i have one
for like 2 yrs now, but don't know jack about SE and these LYTS sites.
would you consider a partnership? or is that kinda domain not helpful
for SE traffic?

I think domains like that are amazing if you know a little about SEO.
The extension doesn't really matter, I have a .tv rank high for its keyword, I doubt I could have done that in so little time without the keywords in the domain.

too competetive, even with a nice domain like myspacelayouts.* you're going to have to do the same amount of work as any new domain to rank on the first page for, "myspace layouts." everyone on the first page have a lot of aged backlinks.

I agree that its competitive but its not impossible, you'll have to work hard to rank on the first page but you can get indexed better than sites that don't have the keywords in the domain.
If you're not sure about what to do with the domain, you could always consider selling it.. that's probably better than finding a partner :)

do you own the URL
www.MyspaceLayouts.net
if you own something like COOLmyspacelayouts.net
it will not be as powerful as www.MyspaceLayouts.net
has the domain been INDEXED in google for 2 years,
or is it just 2 years old that is a huge factor.
sure it is still a powerful URL if you know how to use it correctly.
why do you think people pay millions and millions for domains liek PORN.com SEX.com ect ect becuase they can rank with the domain and get huge USER TYPE ins,
10-20% of internet users do direct type in's when looking for pages, these organic type in sure are the most valuable and a domain such as www.MyspaceLayouts.net would obtain a decent percentage of direct type ins.
good luck.

Sex.com and Porn.com don't even rank page one for their respective terms... But yes they will be good for type-in traffic, and that's it. The domain name doesn't matter in a competative market, that's why i never care about getting domains with my targeted keywords in. Domain age doesn't matter either, ignore that myth.
Cool domain though, develope it and make it hugeeeeee! :)

It's better than Dirt2.
I think that's all that matters.
