Not really changing my layout persay, just adding a bg image to the page and changing the main content and navigation areas a different color. The overall structure of the site: links, navigation will remain exactly the same.

Oh and cleaning up CSS code meaning removing unnecessary css code within the site.

Will all this hurt my seo and rankings?

Chris

Since you run MSRS

If I take out the:
<b style="color:#<?=$randomColors[$random10[5]]?>"></b>

From each of my links in MSRS, will that hurt?

changing some of your links from bold to plain text might have slight effect on your rankings (doubt it ) but over all you should be fine either way i wouldn't expect a big change from it.

shouldn't. Id just leave the bold tag and then change the style to what you want it to look like.

won't have any effect. had my site redone, new theme, 3 column.. changed the front page around completely. didn't do anything to my rankings at all.

it wont affect it. i changed my site completely even down to the folder stucture and renamed the files even and my PR and SERPs remained the same after it was all said and done.

You can change most thing up without problems, but as your site gets bigger and bigger with more and more pages indexed, you need to make sure the structure of your website doesn't change dramatically.

Should be OK if you do not spam too much on the keywords.

looks like it's just a minor change..it won't affect your rankings at all.
