hey guys,
I gave up on my profile cms and have started to hand code my own website without any script or anything..
I have a basic layout started with the header and main template..
http://www.hellagraphics.com/new/website.html
It's been a long while since I last hand coded a website and the "in style" has changed alot with web 2.0 and all that. I dunno if this is any good or at least acceptable for a graphics website..
I'm thinking I want to tone down the size of the header and therfore the rest of the layout. and also I need to line the circle part of the logo in the header with the menu more, and also take some of the bevel out of that smaller text in the header.
but do you think this is worth sticking with or should I start over?
thanks for your honesty ( I can take a bashing)

It's a good setup, but the colour... personally I'd rethink it. It's way too orange
Perhaps you should go darker layout with orange highlights

I think it's definitely worth sticking to... it's not my style and it looks so much like your style that I've never actually seen something like it... which is a very good thing!
I think it's also awesome that you are hand coding (same as me)... I'd stick with it!
I love the background behind the main menu and also the whole background in general. I really think it looks different which is why I like it! :)

I think hand coding gives you so much more creativity wise!
I always hand code, and I think youre doing a great job.
Practice makes perfect and the more you make & code, the better youll get.

Too be honest, it looks to me like something made in 1995. But if that's your style, stick with it! It's not that bad anyway.

I like it man, though I do agree the font could easily be mistaken for Hello Graphics. I'm a fan of the orange, I think it makes it look different and so far its not a site that will cause someone to have a seizure when visiting like some other graphic sites. lol.

Try experimenting with different colors, not sure if its just me but the orange is a bit hard on my eyes.
Color schemer is great if you need ideas for website colors.. I use them all the time:

The design is different...but I think that's a good thing.
I think using less orange could look better though.

I like the orange.... But what I would do is make the inside of the words "hella graphics" a solid color, like black, because there is so much going on with all the colors. The circle logo does need to be a bit smaller, but not alot, it would ruin it. Make the About Us button two lines to match up with the rest of them.
The layout structure looks great, clean and concise.
