Ask a mod to edit it for you, there's a timespan on how long a post can be edited for.

I was just to open a thread about that too.. never really felt the need to edit normal posts but it would be nice if we could edit the marketplace threads. :)

Yeah thats what I suggested.

I got this idea though since we can't edit them to put an image at the top of the thread from a pb account or your server so that you can edit the image and reupload it with whatever it is you want it to say...Cus then it's like editing the thread without touching it ;D

Im gonna do it on my next sales thread.. definetly.

They did that so sellers couldnt go back and change what they had said in their original post. And to stop people from editing it selling new stuff in the same paid thread. You can blame the retards that did this before the marketplace was revamped.

PM a Mod and they will edit it for you if need be but that rule wont be changed I dont think. You can only edit a thread within a certain time limit and when that expires then you cant do it any longer.

As PGZ said there is a reason for it being like it is and the logic behind that isn't going to change.
So instead of causing more hassles just ask a Mod to change something if you need it done. We have been doing it for you guys anyway and there hasn't been a problem.

i get PM's all the time with people asking me to edit stuff and saying sorry for being a hassle or that they feel bad for asking. If it was a hassle then we wouldn't be mods thats why we are here :)

lol what? I ask minnseo to edit my posts all the time.
But when we have an auction or when we have to post something that very second it's only appropriate for us to be as accurate with our information as possible.. It's not a big deal. I know there's a reason behind not being able to edit the posts but you can't control if we use an image to update something.

I think we deserve some control over a posting (which we purchased).

I only meant like if you have an auction..You have the starting bid, the image says 20.00 for the starting bid.
Someone bids 30 dollars so you edit the image so it says current bid is 30.00 and so fourth so now people won't miss it if has been sold already or what the current bid is.

Another example is when the seller decides they want to limit the ammount of sales they can let their buyers know how many packs are left otherwise that seller would be waiting for a moderator to change and edit their marketplace thread like all ...day long.

Plus it's not a completely unique and crazy idea, you can't just stop people from linking to their photobucket or website. -_-

Fact is, SOME things need to be edited when we need them to be edited.

They did that so sellers couldnt go back and change what they had said in their original post. And to stop people from editing it selling new stuff in the same paid thread. You can blame the retards that did this before the marketplace was revamped.

I understand about the situation where people would be introducing new things in their sales thread, but I think mods are here for that reason not to be sitting back and waiting for people to pm to edit posts. I bet the edit feature could be put back into action if the mods took the initiative to be a little bit more aware of the forum and what members are posting and if there's a user misusing the marketplace then a mod should be alerted and also buyers can always quote the original post. Not disrespecting any mods, just my opinion on first hand experiences.

I agree.. the whole not being able to edit thing does make sense but isn't it just easier to stop giving people who abuse the edit feature access to the marketplace forum? So far I never asked a mod to edit because it makes me feel all weird to have to bug people constantly and I think it would be easier for members to read updates in the first post than to browse through all the pages..

You are allowed a certain amount of time (I believe I have it set to 5 minutes after the original post, but I'll have to check) to edit your post in case you made an error, but after that you are not allowed to edit your post. It is far too easy for a scammer to post false information and then change it at a later date.

The rules are the way they are for a reason. It has done far more good than it has caused frustration and it is not going to change.
