View Full Version : Breaking down the marketplace

I think the market place should be broke down into sub forums. TO make it easier for people to look for what they want to buy. Like have the following sub forums in the market place.

1. Glitter/Comment Graphics
2. Layouts
3. Multi Items
4. Scripts
5. Services
6. Sites/domains

etc.....

This making it easier to find what you are looking for. I get irratated looking through the market place and several different threads trying to find things. Just a suggestion to make the buying/selling experience easier and better.

This would also put more peoples sales threads on the first page of that forum which could increase exposure and sales.

I would also add a sub-forum for "Want to buy" as well as "Trades" :)

Yeah it's weird I went to the marketplace and searched for "layouts" and got all the latest layout threads.

Then I felt kinda frisky so I put in "glitters" and got all the latest glitter threads.

Your computer must be reall smart. Cuz I did a search for "layouts" and I got a bunch of different threads for glitters, layouts, scripts, and otehr things
http://www.lilgezuz.com/blahblahblah.png

by breaking the market place down into sub forums you will have the same type of things for sale in one forum instead of going through a crap load of threads

A) All of those threads you are showing have layouts for sale in them. What's your point?

B) Some people list more than one thing in a sale thread. Layouts glitters etc.

If we do it the way you're proposing, of course Greg and the gang will be happy because you will now have to pay $5 for each and every different type of item you are selling.

Summary for the slow people: You won't be able list multiple items in sales threads any more.

Cmon people I know jumping on bandwagons is fun, but think for yourself please.

george, you make a good point there....about selling more than one thing.

i mean, if this goes through people can list their main product, then of course list the other stuff?

its kinda what they do now any ways. i like bandwagons. i tend to fall off them

I guess you didnt read my first post good enough. If you go read it and look at number 3, it says multi items that would be a place to post combo packs at.

Well first of all, having a multi section defeats the purpose of this whole concept.... but I'll humor you.....

So if you are going to have a multi section anyway, and as I've pointed out, buyers can just use the search feature and it works perfectly fine... what was the point again?

Whatever dude, if you dont think its a good idea I guess I just suck. The multi section would be for people selling combo packs. Get it now

George
October 20th, 2007, 11:23 AM
Hey I'm just playing devil's advocate here. Seems everyone jumped in with *golf claps* without thinking it through.

I just didn't see how this helps sellers. Most sale threads I see now are multi's because the sellers finally caught on that it makes more sense to put as much stuff in a sale thread as you can. This idea = counter productive to that goal.

Just an opinion.

RKGraphics
October 20th, 2007, 11:28 AM
thats kinda what i was thinking.

but most combo threads are either layouts and glitters

then sites/links

so maybe just break it up into two sub forums. idk.

October 20th, 2007, 11:36 AM
I think there needs to be SOME organization, weither it be several subs or a few.. It would help.

of course Greg and the gang will be happy because you will now have to pay $5 for each and every different type of item you are selling.
.

People are supposed to anyway as per the marketplace rules unless they have sold the item in a previously paid for thread :)

For some reason Greg and the other mods are letting marketplace rules be broken left right and center.

Taghyra
October 20th, 2007, 12:42 PM
That rule is kind of confusing though, because a pack could include IE layouts and glitters, and that's just one product, one pack. But then breaking down the market place will force that user to break down the packs in 2 packs having to pay for two threads. Unless, if they do break it down, it could give you the option (on a drop down menu or something) to specify what goes where, with a limit of 3 or 4 categories or something like that....

RKGraphics
October 20th, 2007, 12:46 PM
the rule is you DON'T post another pack later on in the thread. if you post all of what you're selling in your ORIGINAL POST, then its all cool

new and old packs. all have to be in the original post.

You wouldnt have to break your packs up if they would make a sub forum called multi/combo packs

It actually states

1. One offer per thread.

Some have 5 or 6 which is not one :P LOL

actually there was a recent discussion about this where Greg confirms you can have more than one product in your original post. you just can't offer more things in the same thread down the line.

i can't find it....i even ask several q's as i was confused. then this was brought up again in another recent thread where a mod confirmed the same thing.

which is why we've been doing it. i believe the confirmations came after Greg updated the marketplace rules.

i'll try and find those threads. and maybe greg or a mod can confirm again.

minnseoelite
October 20th, 2007, 04:17 PM
Yes you can have links to your other sales threads in your original post only. Links to other sales in later posts are edited out if they are found.

RKGraphics
October 20th, 2007, 04:21 PM
what about offering more than one pack in your original post as well? i know this was one of the questions i asked and it was said that you can offer links to your past threads, and whatever products you want in just your original post. so even 5 or 6 new products are ok with old sales....as long as all is posted in your original post.

can that just be confirmed too.

minnseoelite
October 20th, 2007, 04:27 PM
I believe its only 1 new pack per thread. The reason for allowing links to old marketplace threads is you have already paid for those threads.

Great idea, may be hard to catagorize some content though as it may be very generic?

some genius will eventually end up putting glitters in the layouts section and bam its back to unorganized rofl

RKGraphics
October 20th, 2007, 08:45 PM
omg i found it. i seriously had to search for it so i knew i wasn't crazy. specifically the last page is where i ask for confirmation about advertising more than one NEW product....

http://myspacepros.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6513&page=2

so if this is still correct, then maybe the rules need updated??

(this is when i was hotmonkee) lol

I agree, I think it would benefit both the buyer and seller! :)

some genius will eventually end up putting glitters in the layouts section and bam its back to unorganized rofl

if this was to happen all that would need to be done is have a mod move it to the correct forum and bam its back to being organized
