Google and Competitor Ads Question

I've seen people say they wouldn't risk getting banned from google by running adbrite too. I have both running but am worried now.

This is what googles T&C's say

Competitive Ads and Services

In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads cannot be confused with Google ads.

It seems that it's ok to run alternative ads if the colours and formatting are distinctively different to the google ads. Has anybody been banned from google for running adbrite ads too?

The competitors ads cannot look like adsense ads, they need to have different color schemes. Now how different you have to make them look idk I guess that would be Google's call.

you can run them both, even have the same colours. Google is more lenient now that they have the ads by google logo on their ads. You're even allowed to blend your ads to match your navigation links... that's what I was told by my optimization rep.
