I don't visit my Adsense page much and even then don't pay much attention to it. I usually visit it when I need to make up an Ad Unit.

So to my surprise I noticed this tonight, I have no idea how long it's been there.

NEW - Congratulations, your account has been upgraded to include the all new Referrals 2.0 - click here to get started.

Referrals
Google Referrals allow you to choose specific products or groups of products to advertise on your site, allowing you to match ads to your content.

Choose up to 15 products or specific ads to rotate in the referral unit. You can also choose categories and keywords to ensure you get newer ads as they become available.

So I'm guessing this means I can choose much higher paying Ad's to appear on my sites.
Anyone had any decent results from doing this ?

It is like a affiliate progam, you get paid when people buy stuff, so no pay for clicks on this one.
I try it , but no positive results.

Typical ... everything is geared towards Google making the $ - not the publisher or the Advertiser.

I have Adsense banner ads on one resource site as a test. The results are terrible, good traffic but next to no clicks (approx 1 per K uniques) and when they are clicked the payout is crap, always under 5 cents.

These are CPA ads. They pay per sale, not per click or per impression. Surely they would perform well on sites where visitors go to shop, but putting them on a Myspace resource site is most likely a waste of space and time.

I tried referrals for over a month. I had a very low CTR and only a few sales. I did put them in lesser performing spots but the referral ads performed worse than previous ads. I'll be waiting a while before trying the referrals again. Maybe there will be a better selection and quality of advertisers available. For now if you want affiliate sales go with a more established company.

So you're getting paid around $8 for each signup? What promotion are you using, and do people need to enter their credit card to sign up? This promotion actually is competitive with the established cpa companies, opposed to their 15 cents per action nonsense.
