Myspace password stealers, or whatever!

You know those websites that trick myspace users into giving them their information? Well what are they? How do they do it...? Not that I would be interested in *doing* it, but I've always been curious! Where would you even *get* the scripts (or whatever) that you would need for that? o.O People have way too much time on their hands maybe?

Also, what's the POINT of doing it? I mean, what are these people/bots actually benefiting from stealing people's info? =/

its called phishing, I dont think there is a so called script for it. These people use the stolen accounts for spamming the friends lists. like when your friend sends you a bulletin to give your special area some extra length/girth

There are tons of scripts that can do this, why do you think it is happening so much? I once made a test to see how long it would take for me to build one, without any knowledge at all.
Took me about 10 minutes to find even tutorials on how to do it.

A Google search will bring up thousands of results.

In fact do the right search and you can even find login details to random peoples accounts .... lots of them.
