Britney Spears' MTV VMAs performance

Eh actually I didn't find it that bad. I think Britney can still make a huge comeback.
Her new song 'Gimme More' debuted on the Billboard Charts last week on radio airplay alone...there has not been an official release or even a date of a release yet - and it's already charting higher than such artists as Nelly Furtado's latest song...that says something in itself.

She just looked really nervous and I read somewhere that she heard Sarah Silverman practicing her britney jokes before the show, so if that's true then I feel damn sorry for her - those jokes were pretty uncalled for (yeah funny but uncalled for and a bit tighttt)

I still think the song's hot and will be a hit regardless. What do you think?

OHMY It was horrible O.O she kept almost tripping, she got bad extensions, and she looked bored, like she didn't even want to be at the VMAs!

There were parts of it where she was actually dancing decently but half the time she looked a bit tipsy.

Yeah I agree it's nothing like her previous VMA performances - but it's partly because MTV and the hotel the awards were hosted by actually scrapped all of her props and special effects like 10 minutes before her performance.
She had this whole thing planned out with Kriss Angel with mirrors and levitation and she was going to disappear and reappear and all this sh*t...performing without the props you rehearsed with would be kind of hard.

I have never been a BIG fan of Britneys, but she did not look too enthused in that performance. But then again, I am surprised she even had enough balls to do it. The media; tv and magazines, have really been coming down hard on her lately, and Im sure it took alot of courage to get up there. So good for her, wether she did good or not, atleast she faced all the people talking sh*t about her, lol. She was probably so nervous because she knew that no matter how good or poorly she performed it would be the next days most talked about topic!

As for Sarah Silverman; she is not funny, in my oppinion. I love comedy, and often comics talk alot of poop about other people. But I think she takes it overboard. I would of hated to be Paris Hilton the day that she was going to jail and Sarah Silverman was cracking those jokes. As I said, I didnt see the VMAs so I missed her diss on Britney, but I can only imagine!!

Britney Spears has bigger things to worry about than her career. She has two small children that she needs to take care of. Instead of going to clubs and bars, getting wasted with Paris Hilton, she needs to stay home and be a mother to her children.

The night before the MTV VMA they said that she was out clubbing. She should have been home practicing and being with her kids.

Britney Spears is immature and neglectful to her children. What kind of mother goes out all night wearing practically her birthday suit and leaves her small children that she might as well lose to her ex husband Kevin?

Britney is going to get a rude wake up call if she ever loses her kids. They should be her number one priority.

I think that is why she is performing so terribly. She has alot on her plate and mind right now but her extreme actions of the all night partying is only making things worse for you.

Why is lip syncing even happening? I mean, can you not sing any songs without the help of the studio. For once, she needs to sing "live" and I mean "actually singing". I would be pi**ed if I went to a concert and I had to listen to someone lip syncing. I paid to hear an actual live voice and not a recording. All this dancing and cr*p is not necessary. I came to hear a performer "sing" and not a singer "performing". Live music is the best!

Have to agree with everything you said there. People keep expecting so much of her - she has a lot to give but I can only imagine how hard it is to get there. Sarah Silverman sunk pretty low to make jokes like that.
I still love Britney and I think she can still make a comeback regardless of that performance - if she actually came out and explained why it went so wrong I think people would understand...it was pretty bad timing, I think if they had checked with the hotel and MTV that their show would be fine way before they actually did check, there wouldn't have been so many problems.

I love britney but I think shes been in a bad place for awhile and I dont think she knows how to get out of it. Her performance shocked me. I was REALLY hoping she would go out there and wow everybody... but she looked like a scared cat in some headlights.. like she got out there and just freaked. She was stumbling around and even her looks were bad- hair not done, nails not done (saw a close up of her nails only being done on one hand the other not yet done)... she just didnt prepare enough for it. So I dont think she was ready for her "come back". I do like her new song though so she at least still has the voice she just needs to get back into a healthy place physically and mentally. I felt like I was watching a train wreck in slow motion! Like I was listening to a joke and waiting on the punch line! You know that feeling of overwhelming embarrassment you get watching an awesomely bad performance & YOU arent even the one on stage? Thats how I felt! From the neck up she was the old Britney. Still beautiful. But on down? Can you say "SIT-UPS"!? & the way she lazily strutted around the stage? Wretched! I expected so much more from her b/c she's always been such a great entertainer. MTV hyped this up so it should have been amazing, I mean its Britney Spears for God's sake! She was the only reason I even tuned in but i got a HUGE disappointment. If they were gonna pop the show off with her so-called "comeback", it should have been nothing short of spectacular.

Sara Silverman also sucked! She took it too far & I was the only one out of the people I watched it with that noticed MTV didnt let her back out there. You can totally get your *** kicked for talking about someone's kids. She was a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I think its safe to say that this wasnt the VMA's it was the Chris Brown show! Just about everything else super sucked.
