I came across this in my travels, for those whose Google Adsense account has been banned there are plenty of alternatives in the list.

Other Advertising Networks Besides Google AdSense (http://www.johnchow.com/other-advertising-networks-besides-google-adsense/)

October 16th, 2006 by John Chow (http://www.johnchow.com/author/moto/)

Google had done an amazing job capturing the internet advertising market with the AdSense product. However, Google is not the only game in town. As a webmaster, it is your duty to seek out other ways to monetize your site. As we all know, putting all your eggs in one basket isn’t the smartest thing to do.
The list is pretty big at 130 companies. I wonder how many will still be around in a year or two?

Worst scam in the universe, just check out the threads at junkpoint. I was lucky enough to walk away with my money in my hands, but many people are still waiting to get paid.

You need to be careful when picking a network. Do your homework unless you want some bad surprises...

For example popuptraffic is crap, they count like 1% of your real traffic. Total scam

Paypopup is the same junk, they shave your count and they serve all kind of activex and garbage ads. Once I got a popup bomber with them, when you tried to close it the damm thing triggered like 3 other popups, a real nightmare.

Sure, there are loads of "alternatives", but most of them are scams or junk. Be careful with what you use.

Great list. Now we just need people who have worked with the various networks to warn or praise them so we know which are good and which aren't.

That's the idea Scilynt, and to add to that ... the mods can use the edit function and place comments next to the relevant network as I have done with Interclick.

If anyone has time to do this, maybe we could implement a system of kudos (I think that's what it's called).

If a user has had a good experience and recommends an advertisers, you could type their name by it in green. If they have a bad experience, type their name next to it in red.

Or maybe not their name it may take up space. Maybe just a + in the positive and - in the negative colour?

Edit: haha, what a fool, I just read the above post, sorry for my ignorance!

these are some networks that i work with (or used to)

CPM
* Accelerator-Media (YM)
* Adtegrity (YM)
* Axill ($0.30 flat rate)
* Bannerconnect (YM)
* Casale Media
* Claxon Media (uses a phpadsnew backend - very small and very noob company)
* CPX Interactive (YM)
* Directa (pays good for my international traffic)
* Oridian (YM)
* Right Media (YM)
* Rydium (YM)
* Yes Advertising (aka clicksor - aka ****)

CPA
* Azoogle Ads (Tier 1 cpa)
* Commission Junction

CPC
* Google AdSense (**** for myspace sites)
* Yahoo! Publisher Network (good but heading the wrong direction)
* AdKnowledge (pulled some weird crap awhile back so do a little research on them)
* Bidvertiser (**** - stay away from them)
* Clicksor (**** - stay away from them)
* Text Link Ads (very nice network to work with)
* Adbrite (good if you can get advertisers - their RON ads pay nothing)

POPS
* Paypopup (don't be fooled by the claimed rates - they count half of the impressions you serve them)
* Adversal (serves annoying fullpage popunders but have good US rates and pay on time)

I tried Axill for a day and found this problem. Their ad banner keeps on reloading if you leave the page for a few minutes. After that, press the back button of your browser, and the previous ad appears.

Well I got denied for both Casale and valueclick lol. I told them I had great glitters even too! heheh jk.

So anyone have any experience with any of the better CPM networks that they would suggest that pays well and not so picky? Idealy popunder ads that are not too annoying.

Greedy! They are hard to resist though at the rates they pay for them.

Honestly I don't find popunders that annoying, unless there is alot of them.. Then it gets annoying, but it can scare away some visitors aswell - so on any of my sites if I do have popunders I have one per page.. depending on the type of site that is.

Thanks for the list.

I have had good experiences with valueclick... I joined them some years ago when they were fastclick and never had any problems. They serve come good ads at resonable prices. They accepted my MySpace site.

Casale did not accept yet, they said re-apply in 6 months when they will be accepting MySpace styled and a broader range of sites.

I don't run pop-ups yet. When I hit 20,000 unqiues a day I will. I want to build up the site before adding too many ads, build up a user base before turning people off the site with poppers!

Like someone said it's hard to resist adding just 1 pop-under... especially if you're getting a huge amounts of unique traffic, about $3-$4 CPM would increase your income quite bit

old post but... hey, if you don't have valueclick yet.. i had the same problem, kept getting denied for over 3 months.. then i called them and argued my case... and they let me in 2 days later... made me remove a bunch of layouts because they thought they were too racy, but i got in!

Good idea and I plan to try it out. At the very least it would be nice to get a more specific reason for the denials (besides the negative marks of usually being myspace sites lol).

What did you "argue" when you called?

my buddy was the one who did it.. but i told him what to say..

basically he asked the phone rep the exact reasons why we kept getting denied. the guy was really nice and then my buddy went on about how he has seen very poor quality sites were being approved and that it didn't make sense why we weren't getting treated equally. Then they gave us a tracking number and sent the site to their quality control department... quality control replied to us and told us to remove about 5-10 layouts which they considered too adult or risque (mostly bikini types). We took a step further and removed everything which may seem remotely offensive off our site and emailed them back and our site was approved.

the first time we got rejected, I sent email asking them why and they replied it was because we were using domainsbyproxy and couldn't verify the real owner.

who knows, call them and give it a shot... you never know.

Mind if I ask how many impressions you all have per day?

I've been averaging about $5 / day using ValueClick. I mean eCPM for 468/768 banners is horrible (just over .30) pop-unders is pretty good at ~ $3.60 and the medium rectangle isn't too great either at ~ .55 eCPM.

How has you alls numbers been like or are like?

Nice list Cyclops, thanks.

To the CPA/CPL I would add Affiliatefuture. They operate in both US and UK, and they have several offers that are suitable to "myspace-type" traffic (ringtones, cheap cd's and dvd's, cell phone accessories, etc).

[shameless plug] if anybody would like to sign up for affiliatefuture through my referral link, please PM me :P

Worst scam in the universe, just check out the threads at junkpoint. I was lucky enough to walk away with my money in my hands, but many people are still waiting to get paid.

what's wrong with interclick?

we have been using them for months, and get paid on time. in fact, they have sent the last check to us using FEDEX next day air without even me telling them to.

if you haven't been paid by interclick, PM me. i have a good rep there and he will take care of you.

interclick has been giving me higher CPM's than valueclick sometimes..

I've had horrible luck with paypopup. You are supposed to be able to choose between pop-ups and pop-unders, but on my pages, they totally hijacked the page, closed it and went to a separate ad. The only way to go back to my site was to open a new firefox session because the address bar was missing too.

As a sys admin, I don't have any spyware or malware on my computer that would have exacerbated the problem. To paypopup I say BOOOOO! >(
