View Full Version : Bulletins do work

I used to doubt bulletins for awhile because I thought no one checks them or notices them

But I have been sending out bulletins recently to give it a try and after sending out 15 bulletins to my 15 accounts today I made $200+ in little more than an hour. These accounts have between 450-900 friends so its not like you need 100k friends to make money with the bulletins.

You have to tink outside the box and not use the same old marketing or offers. Free Ipod doesnt work anymore for example.

I guess if you want to do bullitens you can but its frowned upon from adsense and Yahoo and to much has gotten accounts banned or suspended.

Ted Hat

What I meant was that the $200 wasn't derived from yahoo publisher or adsense ads.

I had to replace a computer this year due to pop ups and spam (spam far far worse than the myspace bulletin type..the kind of spam that destroys computers)

toolbars that hijack browsers, slowdowns, and unleash popups

There is far worse spam than bulletin spam which is the spam that should be stopped

If you don't like a bulletin just ignore it

None of my bulletin adverrtisements harm a usur's computer in any way and are easly ignored

You must have pretty bad spam over your part of the world, I've yet to see any spam that can damage hardware.

I agree with that point of view, but... if a user is accepting random friends just to build up their friend list then they are inviting "trouble".

If they accepted people they spoke to first or people they knew then they'd never get these 'spam' bulletins. Whereas your e-mail inbox has no choice apart from a junkmail filter that cannot catch everything.

Nope, because you have a profile and suddenly you get a request from some person and you think "cool, someone wants me as a friend, hope we can have some good chats". And then you end up realizing your "friend" is nothing more than a f*king spammer.

You can select for the person to have to know your e-mail address or last name in order to be able to add you. People should all do that. It will force real conversation to take place before they can be added. A spammer won't have time or bother to converse with 400+ friends a day to get them to add them, so it means spammers have no access.

But very rarely do people use this option... because they are desperate for a huge friend list... how can they allow anyone to add them, then complain that they spam? It's stupid and their own fault. All fool them for thinking a large friend list = real popularity.

If you accept any kind of friend, you'll get any kind of friend, including spammer friends.

As I said, spam is spam, no matter who sends it, and there is no way to justify it

That argument is like saying hey, it is your fault for having an email address, you should expect to get cialis crap because of that, if you don't want spam then put a firewall and filters in your inbox so that only the people that know you can email you

Ridiculous

Spam is always going to be here, we have it in out letterboxes too, not just on the net. We get random phone calls from companies selling stuff. On the street people give you leaflets. Spam is all around us in different forms.

There are ways to avoid it, I am not justifying spam. I am saying if you do not use these basic tools that minimise the amount of spam you get, then it's only your own fault. Spam is part if life no matter how much it sucks.

People who are desperate for friends and do not use the tools to help stop spam are bringing it on themselves.

bulletins work if you target the correct demographic,

eg if you know the right people to target then you will have a sucessful campaign,

you need atleast 20 000 people on a network to have a sucessful bulletin, also the bulletin will be more successful if the topic/content is something the respondants like.

You dont need 20,000

I made $xxx today and yesterday with just 9,000

Results may vary as they say on TV

also the bulletin will be more successful if the topic/content is something the respondants like.

I would certainly think so...
