the new kanye west album "graduation" finally leaked tonight... and i'd have to say, this is one of the best albums from start to finish that i have ever heard in my entire life. so here is my review (i like to do music reviews, although you probably don't give a flying crap):

the production on this album is brilliant.. in fact, it almost puts any scott storch, rza, and dr. dre production to shame. the composition on every track is excellent. unlike all other hip hop artists, kanye uses a wide variety of instruments mixed with hard hip hop bass lines and beats, mixed carefully with samples from previous artists in different genres.

although kanye's lyrics may be a bit too cocky to some - it has every right to be. with the opening track "good morning" the mixing of various synthesizers and a sample similar to the chorus of spacehog's "in the meantime" is simply genious..

and of course you probably have heard his new single "stronger", which headlines this album with its hard club beats and lyrics that are simply inspirational - which is something rare in hip hop.. however, if you listen to hip hop for the humerous topics, kanye does not let you down. in "drunk & hot girls," you have lyrics about women at the bar running up your bar tab, along with west coast/dr.dre influenced piano's and violins.

then you have a track "can't tell me nothing" with a wu-tang type beat and a gangsta rap influence featuring young jeezy and his wacky commentary - not to mention a chorus that will stick in your head and reminds us all of 2pac's classic: "Hail Mary".

kanye west's collaboration with t-pain in "The Good Life" as introduced in the last episode of the HBO hit tv show "Entourage" has a catchy inspirational chorus which will definately be played on the airwaves over and over again. In "Flashing Lights," you hear a sample of Curtis Mayfield's "Little Child Runnin' Wild" mixed with hard disco bass hits which will rock clubs around the country...

in "homecoming", kanye spits out lyrics referring to his busy life, fireworks at navy pier, and of course his hometown - the south side of chicago. in "Barry Bonds" (which has absolutely nothing to do with the baseball player), 'lil wayne spits out his usual wacky nonsense which will definately make you hit the rewind button.

overall, this album is purely genious. kanye sticks to what he does best (composition & inspiration) and thankfully stays away from his political views and any other controversal subjects. this is definately a CD that will stay in your disc changers for a long, long time.

I thought 'can't tell me nothing' was one of the most boring songs i've ever heard in a while. songs need a hook right at the beginning to keep you listening and that song just didn't have the hook that made 'stronger' such a hit.

Anyway, I'll probably download this album tonight, it sounds alright - Kanye always manages to have some interesting tracks.

oh and man I love doing music reviews too, I'm working on a music orientated site right now...it's just taking forever to come together :)

It seems like gospel music too me. Some tracks are OK though. Never really got into Kanye.
