View Full Version : Does MSP load slowly for you?

I was wondering if you often experience times when you click on something at MSP and it takes more than several seconds to load the page. I often have to hit Stop and Refresh in IE6, Windows XP, with a DSL connection.
Is it just me or do you experience slowness too?

Thanks Jen. Firefox is a good solution to this slow loading IE6 problem. I just tried browsing MSP with Firefox and it seems much faster.

Firefox uses up even more of my resources :/ probably the addons like yslow etc. that i have running though that are slowing it down.
I don't think it's MSP's server... sometimes it's perfect and sometimes it's not, but usually if i'm having major problems i restart firefox and it's completely fine.

Yep quite often.
Most times i end up with a blank white page and have to hit re-fresh for it to load :)

It's probably a combination of the two. I didn't realize the forums were getting 25,000 to 30,000 thread views a day until today so I wasn't aware we needed to make any adjustments to the server. I'll have Des work on it when we get a chance.

Yeahhhh. And I used firefox. That or the forums will load fast, but the images will take awhile to load.

Firefox here usually the forum loads ok but every hour or so it will seem to "freeze" and become unresponsive in which I usually just log out clear my cache and log back in.

That's weird. None of that ever happens for me. I guess it's just another reason to love mac! haha

I'll probably look into this today as it wont take that long, then maybe post about it and see what everybody else thinks of the configs, or give people another chance to berate me on something :P

The forum loads fine, it cuts out though. A few times each day, the server will just die for about 30-60 seconds then work again as if nothing happened.

I mostly use Opera for MSP and it sometimes freezes up, other sites are fine, I just close the tab and open another one and it's all good.
It's not worth worrying about, overall it's fine.
